5 Activities to Do in Ottawa This Fall

Not sure what’s going on in Ottawa this fall? With social distancing still in place, things may not be in full swing as they usually are but that doesn’t mean fall has to be a drag this year. There are still a number of exciting activities to do in Ottawa this fall, rain or shine. Here are just a few of our favourites you can still partake in.

Go Apple Picking

September and October are the perfect months to visit a local orchard and pick your own apples for seasonal baking. There are a number of great spots just outside of the city to get outside and enjoy the fresh air with the whole family. Saunders Farm is one of the best known in the area with exciting hayrides, a giant corn maze to explore and other fun activities the kids will enjoy.

Visit a World-Class Museum

Right now you can get free access to all of the national museums in Ottawa. To ensure social distancing rules and to limit capacity, visitors must book their visit online. Hand sanitizing stations will be made available throughout and if you forget to bring your mask, most museums will provide a complimentary one as soon as you enter.

Sail the Canal

What’s the best way to see all the beautiful fall covers? By sailing down the Rideau Canal and across the Ottawa River this fall. You can get a glimpse of all the beautiful landmarks and natural spaces by taking a river tour on a comfy two-story boat or by rafting down the rapids.

Find Your Pumpkin

Another great activity to do in Ottawa this fall is pumpkin picking. The usual Pumpkin Fest might not be running at full force this year, but that doesn’t mean you have to fully miss out on getting a pumpkin. A number of pumpkin patches will still be open so that you can pick your very own special pumpkin and get it ready for carving. Check out this list of all the best patches in the area, and just remember to call first to make sure they are still open.

On your way to one of these exciting events, don’t forget to take your Mazda in to get serviced this fall also. It might not be the most fun thing to do but it’s essential to ensuring your vehicle is in tip-top shape for the wetter, colder weather. Contact us today at Kanata Mazda to book your fall service.
